Sore Throat Spray
As seen on the Sonoran Living program.

Intensive therapy for your throat! This potent spray will help take some pain away from your throat while fighting bugs and germs. This spray is strong and will change the taste in your mouth, so do not use it just before eating! In fact, refrain from eating or drinking anything for 20 – 30 minutes after using it so the spray stays on the throat area and is not washed down too quickly.

The chamomile tea may be made with a tea bag or with fresh or fresh dried chamomile flowers. Make the tea nice and strong. The vinegar is a natural bacteria cleanser, so it is a good addition to this throat spray. You may vary the essential oils, but make sure to include ginger or thyme because these are the big guns when it comes to fighting off germs.

Ingredients: yield: 2 oz (shy)

1 ˝ oz strong Chamomile Tea
1 tsp Lavender or Sage Honey (see my recipe for Lavender infused honey)
1 Tbl Apple Cider Vinegar
2 oz glass spray bottle
Essential Oils – a total of 10 – 14 drops in total(*)
5 drops Ginger
3 drops Thyme
2 drops Hyssop
3 drops Peppermint

(other good choices to use in place of any of these would be rosemary or sage)

(*) NOTE: If using this on children, you might want to dilute it by 1/2.

Method:
After making the strong chamomile tea, strain it twice into a glass measuring cup. Add the honey while the tea is still hot so it will dissolve well. Carefully pour the tea mixture into a 2 oz glass bottle (use glass, not plastic). Add vinegar and then the essential oil drops. Close with sprayer cap and shake well. Label and date the bottle. Store in the refrigerator. Use for one season only.

Use several times throughout the day. This spray is a nice companion to the Mommy’s Chest and Neck Rub (see other recipe).
