Baby Oils and Gift Set
As seen on the Sonoran Living program.

This is a very simple but precious gift idea that will always be well received. It is so cute that people will ask where you found it and you will have to proudly admit that you made it. Everyone will be so impressed and you will be quite pleased with yourself, though you’ll try hard not to show it too much!

The trick is to have some bottles and clear cellophane and ribbons always on hand so that you do not have to go running for them at the last minute. Be creative with the packaging! Cost Plus/World Market has a great selection of cute bottles that are not overly expensive.

The little metal buckets personalized with the baby’s name is great, if you have the time to do that. If not, just use a basket, a baby blanket or just the clear cellophane with crinkle ribbon at the bottom. Tie the cellophane with a big ribbon.

When making a body oil for a new born, it is best to keep it very lightly scented. You do not want to bombard the new senses. The calming oil would be great for mom, too, or you can make her another oil of her own. Click here to see other body oil recipes on site.

Both Baby Oils listed below start with a good quality oil such as 2/3 part apricot and 1/3 part jojoba oil.

Baby Calming Body Oil
To 3 oz oil blend, add a total of 12-15 drops of essential oil.

4 drops Chamomile
2 drops Rose Otto or Absolute (substitute Palma Rose)
3 drops Grapefruit
3-5 drops Calendula

Shake the bottle well, test the scent and adjust if needed. Label with all ingredients listed.

Baby Colic Body Oil
To 3 oz. oil blend, add a total of 10 drops of essential oil.

4 drops Chamomile
1 drops Fennel
4 drops Lavender
1 drops Peppermint

Shake the bottle well, test the scent and adjust if needed. Label with all ingredients listed.
