Everyone loves Lavender! It has a universal appeal and a wide range of uses as well. It is one of the safest herbs to use, safe for all ages, and it can be used as a culinary delight as well as a medicinal aid. If you only have one essential oil in the house, you would want to make it lavender. Grow some lavender for it is great to have fresh lavender bouquets and it is fun to dry lavender bunches to tuck into gift bags or to display in baskets around the house.

This recipe makes a large quantity, you can easily reduce the amounts, but you may find that it is handy to have a few extra jars because they make nice gifts.

48 oz. honey
1 cup lavender dried lavender blossoms

Gently heat honey. When hot, put lavender in pot and cover. Turn off. Let steep for 1-2 hours. Strain and enjoy.

Lavender Body Oil

Use a base oil on almond or apricot oil mixed with about ¼ jojoba oil. If you are going to make 4 oz of scented oil, that would be:

Ingredients:
3 oz almond or apricot oil
1 oz jojoba oil
20 drops lavender essential oil, or to desired strength

Shake well. Use liberally all over the body. Relax! Really, you won’t be able to help yourself after this lavender treatment.

Lavender Room Mist

This is a great room spray to have around in any room of the house. It helps clean the air and brings a nice refreshing aroma. Lavender is calming and soothing as well as anti bacterial.

Ingredients:
2 oz filtered or R.O. water
20 drops lavender essential oil, or to desired strength

Put in a spray bottle that sprays a fine mist. Shake well before using. Remember to put a label on your bottle! Make an extra bottle to keep in the kitchen for burns.
